A Family Tradition of Quality and Service

Over 95 years at Birkbeck’s Jewellers we have established an unsurpassed reputation for quality and service.

It was 1912 when Vic Birkbeck first opened his original shop on Nerang Street, Southport in Queensland. His daughter, Helen, continued the family involvement with the business until her retirement after a lifetime of service in 1990.

Today I, Michael Ford, Vic’s grandson, with my wife Liz, continue the tradition. Amongst our customers are many whose families have shopped at Birkbecks since Vic first opened his store all those years ago.

Our daughter Julia recently completed her studies in Belgium and London and is now a graduate gemmologist and jewellery professional. She worked in Hatton Garden-the diamond hub of London - for two years and she has now returned home to work with us.

Our loose diamonds are sourced from merchants across the globe to provide you with the optimum combination of quality and value. In watches and giftware we stock leading international brands from Tag Heuer and Raymond Weil to Longines and Rado,from Swarovski and Alessi to Versace by Rosenthal.
